SM (Retd) · Author · Military Historian · Speaker
From leading troops in the valleys of Kashmir to authoring 30 books that document India's military glory — a soldier, scholar and storyteller who never apologises for loving Bharat.
Born in 1969 in Jammu to a family that migrated from Pakistan-Occupied J&K during the 1947 partition, Colonel Ajay K Raina was commissioned into the Indian Army in 1990. He proudly commanded his parent unit, 93 Field Regiment, and served with Rashtriya Rifles in North Kashmir — earning the Sena Medal for Gallantry.
After 27 years of distinguished service, he took premature retirement in 2017 to pursue his passion for military history, nation-building, and truth-telling through writing and speaking. Today he stands as one of India's most prolific voices on defence, Kashmir, and national heritage.
Thirty volumes of military history, Kashmir narratives, and national security research — each one a battle fought with ink and truth.
From classified operations to national television panels — Colonel Raina brings the weight of lived experience to every platform he steps onto.
Regularly featured on national television, leading podcasts, and international forums. Host of high-profile debates and panel discussions on India's security, Kashmir, and military history.

The nation needs voices that speak truth without fear.
